The Story Behind Conscious Cocktail Company
How one woman’s passion for the British countryside (and cocktails!) became a mission to change how we drink.
Sally Hawkins, Founder of the Conscious Cocktail Company, set out to create exceptional quality, bar-strength cocktails that were inspired by a love of nature and loved nature back.
Driven by the question:
‘How can we create delicious cocktails that care for the planet as much as we do?’
Sally found the answer:
Create a brand which raises consciousness about our precious meadows and hedgerows; so use the ingedients we find there!
Create a brand that is more than a ‘drink in a can’ - it’s an experience; so add depth and dimension from the first touch and smell to the last lingering tasting note.
Conscious Cocktails began to take root.
Recipes evolved, drawing on the seasons and using those ingredients. Late spring revealed the lemon balm and the summer meadowsweet which added a countryside twist to the Meadow Mojito; the fragrant roses and pink elderflower of summer inspired the Wild Spritz; and succulent blackerries, honeysuckle, and rosehips of early autumn levelled-up the Hedgerow Martini.
Appreciation of nature is invaluable but actions speak louder than words! That’s why Sussex Wildlife Trust is our chosen charity - they champion wildlife and natural places everywhere in Sussex and inspire people to take action for nature.
Meadow Mojito
This bar-strength levelled-up Cuban classic at 11% ABV will immediately tingle your tastebuds and transport your imagination to a serene English meadow where the buzz of bees and fluttering of butterflies create a symphony of calm.
Awaken your senses with this blend of uplifting, refreshing and fragrant botanicals with Portsmouth Distillery 1968 award-winning rum.

A refreshing reimagining of the Cuban classic mojito, crafted with a herbaceous twist.
This uplifting cocktail blends smooth English unaged, white rum with a fresh, cooling infusion of British fresh leaf mint and zesty lime juice.
Meadowsweet extract adds a gentle honeyed, almond-like floral notes whilst the calming yet uplifting lemon balm offers a soft, herby, citrus-mint warmth that lingers delicately on the finish.
A beautifully balanced mojito with layers of botanical complexity. It is fresh, rounded, and quietly wild.

Chilled and straight from the can or as with all Mojito’s it is best served over crushed ice with a sprig of mint or lemon balm and a wedge of lime.
Hedgerow Martini
At 15% ABV this confident and complex Martini evokes the hedgerows filled with the sumptuous blackberries, and plump sloes of a late English summer.
A sophisticated and elegant blend of award-winning artisan London Dry Gin and smooth sloe gin from Harley House, Sussex, with sustainably sourced fruits and botanicals, is designed to be enjoyed anytime, anywhere and anyhow!

This vibrant, confident and complex blend opens with the botanical brightness of Artisan London Dry Gin, then is quickly deepened by the luscious fruitiness of British Sloe Gin and blackberry juice, delivering a jammy, dark berry depth.
A touch of apple juice lends a natural sweetness and roundness, while lemon juice brightens the palate with a clean citrus lift.
The addition of rosehip brings subtle earthy tartness, complemented by the tangy, sweet richness of blackcurrant.
A delicate hint of honeysuckle flavour lingers on the finish, offering a floral whisper that softens and elevates.

This versatile Martini can be served a number of ways: straight up; on the rocks; over crushed ice with soda; or my personal favourite added to English sparkling wine for a flavour explosion. Think Kir Royale but so much nicer!!
Not sure what to take on a picnic? Grab a can and a bottle of fizz and you are set for the afternoon!
Wild Spritz
This light and refreshing spritz at 6% ABV, using award-winning English wine, bursts with a delicious strawberry-forward flavour then takes you on a sensuous journey through the soft blooms of an English garden.
The fragrant organic rose and pink elderflower creates an enchanting and romantic mix crafted for those who appreciate life’s finest pleasures.

Pause and indulge your senses and firstly appreciate the smell of rose intertwined with sweet strawberry. Then take your first sip and note the bright, floral and delightfully British lightness of this sparkling spritz. The taste opens with fresh strawberry then notes of the crisp, aromatic English Bacchus wine, with a hint of elderflower and citrus blossom.
The spritz is balanced with apple juice and lifted subtly with a hint of lemon, whilst the pink elderflower and organic English rose take centre stage bringing an elegant, delicate floral notes that are both romantic and refreshing.
The result is a spritz that’s graceful yet grounded, like an English summer garden in bloom.

Every decision has been made with the central ethos of sustainability and ethical practices in mind - from the choice of business bank to certified B-corporation and Soil Association suppliers of the botanicals.
The small, family run and artisan distilleries and vineyard in Sussex and Hampshire reduce our carbon footprint and supports local businesses.
The natural fruit juices are sourced from suppliers in the UK with LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and Certified Organic (Organic Food Federation) Awards.
